General
comments:
Fairly
bland site.
There is no where on the site that explains what each
of the types of policy cover you for, unless you read
the policy booklets. Annoying marketing question as
part of the quote increases number of compulsory questions
to get a quote. Help icons are not easy to see. Data
entry fields are all the same width even when a only
a single digit is needed, this makes it look a bit odd.
Poorly laid out premium page with the buy now button
below the scroll line.
Annual
travel insurance
First
screen: Travel details and cover details
-
Which areas of the world will you visit? Only two options
Worldwide including USA and Canada or Europe
- Age of oldest traveller. It is a drop down list and
there is only one option "less than 65 years old"
- Where did you hear about us - lots of marketing options
to select from
- Start date of cover, three seperate fields
- How many adults - classed as age over 16 but under
65 unless in full time education then up to 22 is classed
as a child
-
How many children aged 3 and over
Optional covers (yes / no radio buttons)
- Baggage / money cover
- Cancellation cover
- Winter sports cover
- Golf cover
- Business cover
-
Enhanced / reduced excess (standard excess is £35,
you can either increase it to £50 or reduce it
to £0)
Second
screen: Premium
Premium is displayed at the top within the orange bar.
It is not as clear as it could be and the page is fairly
text heavy.
The
buy button is not immediately visible as it is below
the scroll, even on the highest screen resolution settings
(a pretty fundamental design flaw - either emply a usability
company or sack the one you use esure!)

They
clearly give you the premium for an annual policy based
on the details you have entered - however if you click
the apply for annual travel insurance you are taken
to the same quote and buy questions as shown in the
Annual Travel insurance section above, though the details
are pre-populated.
The
buy button is not immediately visible as it is below
the scroll, even on the highest screen resolution settings.
